How to pick up and throw pebbles in DONT SPLASH

Walk into a gray stone cluster on a tiled platform. You get one pebble, even if several stones are sitting there. Select it, aim at water away from the path you want, and throw. It lures. It does not hurt the monster.

Where they are and what a cluster gives you

Clusters sit on the tiled platforms in the Poolrooms. Touch the cluster and it disappears. One cluster, one pebble. In the lobby Equipment stall you can buy a refill: 1 pebble for 5 Coins, or 5 for 25 Coins. No carry limit was documented.

On the hotbar, the upper-left number is the slot and the lower-right number is how many you have left.

How to throw

On PC, press the pebble’s number key, aim, click, then press that key again to put it away. On mobile, tap the pebble icon and then THROW. Throw into water off your route, then watch the body in the pool. A throw does not promise a safe crossing. The monster can turn back.

  • Pebble Skipping 0/3: the stone makes 3 small splashes as it skips.
  • Pebble Skipping 1/3: 4 splashes. The 0→1 upgrade costs 150 Coins on the wiki’s upgrade table.
  • Throwing Range 0→1 is also 150 Coins and adds 10% distance for pebbles and bottles. A stud length at level 0 was not published.
  • The max-upgrade passes for those two stats are 75 Robux each on the official pass list checked 25 Oct 2026.

Pebble, bottle, or flare

A pebble is free if you find a cluster, and it skips. A bottle is 150 Coins for the unlock plus 3 uses, and it makes one loud splash where it lands, which is better for a far target. A flare is 450 Coins for the unlock plus 3 uses. A hit stuns for 5 seconds and then the monster cannot be stunned again for 8 seconds. The flare is not a lure.

Common misses: throwing next to yourself, dumping a second pebble on the same splash before you have moved, and assuming the monster has committed. If you are downed anyway, the rescue rope is a teammate tool, not a monster tool. More prices are on tools.

Research note. The tool notes describe +1 pebble as the pickup, with the parenthesized count showing the inventory total. Use the cited run for context. No measured hearing or throwing range is claimed here.

Questions on this page

Why did the cluster only give one pebble?

That is the documented pickup. The pile is a prop. The toast is +1 pebble.

Can a pebble kill or stun the monster?

No. It creates splashes and draws the monster toward the sound. Damage and stun are not part of the pebble.
